Totem Pole - Halibut Stew 8"
Alaska Black Diamond uses yellow cedar in from the rainforests surrounding Ketchikan, Alaska to create these beautiful, hand-carved totem poles. This totem is authentic; a great symbol of Alaska Northwest Coast native tradition.
Due to the nature of handmade crafts, there may be a slight wood-color variance from the totem pictured.
Each totem is signed by the artist and includes a story card to share the legends represented in each pole.
Halibut Stew
“Frog told this story and he told it true. How Raven and Eagle made Halibut Stew. Frog led the trio to the shore of the ocean where he told of a great fish who made quite a commotion. Eagle and Raven decided to trick him along, so they sent frog to the shore to sing a great song. Halibut, the fish, followed the tune that led him to a narrow gap by noon. The trio, so clever, swam, hopped and flew, until Eagle and Raven got their Halibut Stew.”
